Studio Lesson Policy

A few clear notes so your time — and Vicki's — stays focused on the music. Please read through before your first lesson.

Booking & Scheduling

Lessons are booked in advance for a recurring weekly time slot, held for you as long as you're an active student in good standing. New students start with an introductory session to find the right fit before committing to a regular slot.

Both in-studio lessons at Studio 105 Recording and online lessons via video call follow the same scheduling and policy terms below.

2

Cancellations

Life happens — but your slot is reserved specifically for you, so advance notice keeps things fair for everyone on the schedule.

  • 24+ hours notice: cancel or reschedule at no charge.
  • Under 24 hours notice: the lesson is charged in full, since the slot can't be filled on short notice.
  • No-shows: billed at the full lesson rate, no exceptions.

To cancel or reschedule, text or call (904) 438-4105 directly — please don't rely on email for same-day changes.

3

Late Arrivals

If you're running behind, a heads-up text is appreciated but the lesson will still end at its scheduled time so the next student isn't affected. Lessons are not extended to cover lost time from a late arrival, and arrivals more than 15 minutes late will be treated as a no-show under the cancellation policy above.

4

Make-Up Lessons

One make-up lesson per month is available for cancellations made with proper notice, scheduled based on open slots in Vicki's calendar within the following two weeks. Make-up lessons do not carry over month to month and are not offered for late cancellations or no-shows.

5

Payment

Payment is due at the time of booking or at the start of each lesson, depending on your arrangement. Accepted methods include card, Venmo, and cash. Monthly and package rates are available on request and are billed up front for the month.

Returned or failed payments may result in a hold on future scheduling until the balance is resolved.

6

Illness & Emergencies

If you're feeling unwell — especially with anything affecting your voice, throat, or breathing — please cancel rather than attend. Illness cancellations made before the lesson start time are not charged, even inside the usual 24-hour window, and a make-up slot will be offered when possible.

Genuine emergencies are handled on a case-by-case basis — just reach out as soon as you're able.

7

Studio Holidays

The studio observes major U.S. holidays and occasional closures for travel or performances, announced in advance by text or email to active students. No lessons are billed for studio-initiated closures, and affected lessons are rescheduled rather than skipped.

8

Studio Etiquette

  • Arrive with water, a notebook, and any assigned practice material ready to go.
  • For online lessons, test your camera, mic, and internet connection a few minutes early.
  • Phones on silent during lessons, please — full focus makes for faster progress.
  • Parents and guardians of minor students are welcome to sit in on request.
9

Gift Certificates

Gift certificates are valid for one year from the date of purchase and are redeemable for any lesson package. They are non-refundable but fully transferable to another student if plans change.
